About
Our Story ...
After coaching chess in Victorian schools for over 18 years—including PLC, MLC, Haileybury, Camberwell Grammar, and Carey Grammar—we witnessed the profound impact of chess education on students’ intellectual and personal growth. Inspired by this, we founded Healthy Minds Chess Academy in 2015 to offer engaging, structured programs tailored for school chess clubs, private groups, and online learners.
Our student-centred approach, customized to individual skill levels, helps students refine strategies, tactics, and cognitive abilities while developing time management, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
We work with all skill levels, including high-achieving students and those preparing for scholarships, using a carefully designed syllabus to challenge and nurture advanced cognitive skills.
Beyond academics, our inclusive programs provide extra support for students with additional learning needs, fostering confidence and success.
We organize individual chess competitions and Interschool chess championships. Our academy also runs Victorian Junior and Secondary Interschool Zonal Tournaments offering pathways to the State Final Championship.
At Healthy Minds Chess Academy, our mission is to empower students to build resilience, take calculated risks, and explore new knowledge. Through chess, we cultivate adaptability and lifelong skills, shaping well-rounded individuals ready to excel in academics and beyond.
